Somewhere under $300 preferably, I'm really looking for something easily portable, and that takes great high resolution photos in low lighting situations and is good at capturing motion. I know next to nothing about cameras so I've just been trying to do some research. ^^'
Yeah, you won't find anything like this camera in that range. But if you wanted a regular point-and-shoot (a camera whose focus isn't manually adjustable/lens isn't interchangeable,) a Kodak EasyShare Z1285 falls within that price range (roughly $190-240 it seems.) I used one for years before purchasing my DSLR and it served me well.
It has 18 megapixels, HD video, and 5x optical zoom--which is pretty good for a point and shoot, in my opinion. Its flash is also absolutely mind boggling--if you attempt to shoot a picture in a completely pitch-dark room, the image result will look as though it had been taken in full lighting. o_0
My only caution is that its shutter speed is rather slow in especially low-light situations so that, without flash, you would definitely need a tripod to get a crisp, non-blurry image.
But for non-professional purposes, it's great, in my opinion.
These two images were taken with my Kodak EasyShare.
