Happy New Year everybody!! Wishing you all a wonderful 2013 with another meaningful chapter in your life waiting to be written. Thanks for all the support in 2012 and I look forward to a great year with you all again here.
Like I mentioned
in my previous journal, I felt it would be great to feature my personal top 21 photos of 2012 that I chose for the Daily Deviation award. They are my favorites, the ones that I take great pride in featuring and revisiting every now and again. I hope you find them as wonderful as I do.
Check out the
whole gallery of DD's I awarded in 2012 here.
Once again: have a great 2013 everybody!!

Pine Needles In The Snowfall by ~
NitrokLooking back now, I really should have saved DD for December or Christmas. What an incredible photo! I love the effect the snow gave with the bokeh: that magical look. Basically, brilliant lighting and beautiful focus.

Ciril wonderfully captures the innocent and youthful passion for aviation in his little brother's eyes in the beautiful photo:
Sky Captain.

michaelrumizThe moment I saw this shot, I knew it was one of a kind.. definitely worthy of a DD. The composition, the framing, the focus, and especially the great expression and angle make this a jaw-dropping capture. The water splash in the back gives it an even more impressive feel... definitely one of my favorites on dA.

Snowflakes with Amurshaya by *
Eltasia*
Eltasia has an absolutely beautiful gallery, but this particular shot really stood out to me for a few reasons: the clarity, sharpness, lighting, and a sense of majesty mingled with calm, peaceful bliss. You can't help but feel that sense of pure bliss the tiger seems to have here. Lovely shot.

literalsense of the word, photographs. Perfect timing, wonderful clouds, and great technique makes this one of those photos you want to stare at for minutes on end.. you almost can sense the power of the storm here.

one-shot-below is a fantastic example of perfect timing and brilliant composition. I think this was the first DD that I ever awarded and to this day I still find this an excellent example of great setup, composition, and patience.

Flight... by ~
M-Atif-SaeedI love this shot for several reasons. First, it showcases one of my favorite birds from my home country, Brazil. Macaws are just awesome creatures. The focus on this shot and the great position of the wings is really what stood out to me most. I would love to get shot like this someday... very inspiring.
